It is ideal for manufacturing lightweight protective apparel such as general isolation gowns for ward rounds, hospital visitor garments, and laboratory shoe covers where comfortable, everyday barrier protection is required.
The core technology relies on a Microporous Breathable PE (Polyethylene) Film. The engineered micropores in the film are small enough to resist the penetration of external liquids and biological contaminants, yet large enough to allow body-generated moisture vapor to escape. This balance ensures effective fluid barrier properties alongside wearing comfort.
The fabric features a robust 3-layer breathable laminate structure. The outer layer is a lightweight PP (Polypropylene) Spunbond nonwoven providing a protective surface. The middle barrier layer consists of the microporous breathable PE film. The inner layer is also a soft PP Spunbond nonwoven, designed for skin contact and enhanced wearing comfort.
The MediShieldTM General Isolation Fabric is tested and certified to meet AAMI Level 2 and Level 3 standards for liquid barrier performance.
