AquaVene™ TPEE

Thermoplastic Polyester Breathable Film

AquaVene™ TPEE Series

AquaVene™ TPEE, developed by Kae Hwa Industrial, is a high-performance thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) breathable film engineered for durable waterproof and moisture-vapor transmission.

Through a monolithic, non-porous structure, it provides a seamless waterproof barrier while allowing moisture vapor to diffuse through its hydrophilic polymer matrix — ensuring long-lasting comfort, flexibility, and protection.

This film combines excellent elasticity, thermal resistance, and mechanical strength, making it ideal for textile lamination, outdoor apparel, footwear, and technical applications requiring consistent performance under stress, washing, or extreme environments.

Core Advantages

Solid-State Molecular Diffusion Monolithic, non-porous membrane transmits moisture vapor via molecular diffusion while maintaining an uninterrupted liquid and wind barrier.
100% Polyester Mono-Material System Bonds with polyester face fabrics to create a unified laminate that can be re-granulated and recycled as a single polymer stream.
Elite Medical Barrier Integrity Stable barrier performance suited to autoclave sterilization and high-end medical protective products.
PFC-Free Technical Resilience Fluorine-free formulation with strong thermal stability, low-temperature flexibility, and repetitive-wash durability.
Elastic & Durable Exceptional stretch and recovery with high tear resistance for demanding technical use.

AquaVene™ TPEE Mono-Material Circular Design

AquaVene™ TPEE can be developed using Polyester-oriented material layers:

Face Fabric Polyester woven / knit / lightweight technical polyester
This Product Functional Membrane Monolithic hydrophilic AquaVene™ TPEE membrane
Backing Polyester tricot / knit / lightweight backing

Keeping the principal laminate layers within the polyester family simplifies material identification and supports seamless re-granulation within the global polyester circular economy.

For verified circular-product claims, the complete construction—including adhesive, finishes, printing, seam tape, and garment accessories—should be evaluated against the intended recovery process.

Recommended Wording

"Designed with a Polyester-family laminate architecture to support a 100% Polyester mono-material recycling infrastructure and reduce mixed-material complexity."

FAQ

AquaVene™ TPEE is a halogen-free, non-porous monolithic membrane that is entirely PFAS-free and PFC-free, ensuring it complies with the strictest global environmental regulations. Unlike standard PTFE membranes, TPEE is fully recyclable and does not release toxic byproducts during its lifecycle, making it the ideal sustainable choice for premium consumer and industrial applications.

AquaVene™ utilizes advanced monolithic (non-porous) technology. Breathability is achieved at a molecular level through hydrophilic molecular chains that actively absorb and transport moisture vapor away from the body or package. Because there are no physical pores, the film acts as an absolute solid barrier against liquids, bloodborne pathogens, viruses, and wind, maintaining consistent performance even when stretched or soiled.

Yes. As a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, AquaVene™ possesses excellent thermal stability. It maintains its structural integrity and performance at elevated temperatures, making it highly compatible with various thermal lamination processes, hot-melt adhesive applications, and industrial sterilization methods (such as autoclaving or gamma radiation) required for medical applications.

Not at all. AquaVene™ inherently combines high elasticity with exceptional tensile strength. Unlike microporous films where stretching can distort the pores and compromise waterproof integrity, our monolithic TPEE structure retains its uniform moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) and high water column resistance even under repeated dynamic stress and stretching.

AquaVene™ is highly versatile due to its premium barrier properties and eco-friendly nature. It is widely used in:

  • Premium Outdoor & Activewear: For high-performance windproof and waterproof jackets.

  • Medical & Healthcare: For AAMI Level 4 surgical gowns, drapes, and protective apparel requiring total fluid and viral barriers.

  • Industrial Packaging & Automotive: For specialized protective covers and desiccants requiring controlled moisture control and high durability.
