BuildBreathe™ Breathable Floor Protection is designed as a temporary covering for finished flooring during construction, renovation, installation, and finishing phases.

By combining a functional breathable membrane with a protective nonwoven layer, the material helps reduce direct exposure to liquid spills, dirt, dust, foot traffic, and general construction wear while preserving a pathway for moisture-vapor transmission.

Unlike fully non-breathable plastic coverings, BuildBreathe™ helps reduce the risk of moisture becoming trapped beneath temporary floor protection, supporting more appropriate moisture management for sensitive flooring systems.

Why Does Temporary Floor Protection Need to Breathe?

Finished flooring may still contain residual moisture, or may be installed over adhesives, mortars, concrete substrates, or other materials that continue to dry or cure after installation.

The actual impact depends on the flooring system, initial moisture content, indoor temperature and humidity, ventilation, and covering duration.

Temporary Installation Considerations
