What is the difference between MicroBreath™ PE and PP breathable films?

While both PE (Polyethylene) and PP (Polypropylene) belong to our MicroBreath™ microporous series, they offer distinct physical properties tailored for different manufacturing requirements and end-use environments.

Softness & Flexibility

MicroBreath™ PE

Engineered for maximum cloth-like softness and flexibility. PE film has a lower melting point, making it highly compatible with high-speed lamination and thermal bonding in hygiene production.

Ideal for: Baby diaper backsheets, adult incontinence products, and standard medical isolation gowns.

Strength & Heat Resistance

MicroBreath™ PP

Provides superior mechanical strength and dimensional stability. PP film can withstand higher processing temperatures and offers higher tensile resistance, ensuring the film doesn’t deform under stress.

Ideal for: Industrial protective coveralls, high-temperature desiccant packaging, and structural laminates.
