What is the main difference between HydraProof™ PE and PP films?

Unlike our breathable series, the HydraProof™ range is engineered for absolute liquid and vapor isolation. Choosing between Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) depends entirely on the mechanical stress and thermal environment of your application.

Flexible Barrier

HydraProof™ PE

Focuses on high elongation and sealability. It is incredibly flexible, allowing it to conform to irregular surfaces without tearing.

  • Excellent stretch and recovery
  • Superior moisture sealing
  • Softer hand-feel for laminates

Best for: Construction membranes, isolation liners, and flexible industrial packaging.

Rigid Strength

HydraProof™ PP

Prioritizes structural integrity and heat resistance. It is stiffer than PE and maintains its shape under high mechanical load.

  • High tensile strength
  • Outstanding heat resistance
  • Superior dimensional stability

Best for: Heavy-duty structural applications, automated heat-sealing lines, and chemical-resistant barriers.

The Kae Hwa Standard (±0.01 mm)

Regardless of the polymer choice, both films are produced via our precision casting technology, ensuring a consistent thickness tolerance of ±0.01 mm. This level of uniformity is critical for preventing weak spots in large-scale construction or industrial isolation projects.
