How does MediShield™ provide both a viral barrier and comfort for surgical gowns?

In high-risk surgical environments, medical professionals often face a trade-off: traditional liquid-tight gowns provide safety but are stiflingly hot, leading to heat stress and fatigue. MediShield™ solves this through advanced monolithic membrane technology, creating a total viral barrier that “breathes.”

Zero-Pore Viral Security

Unlike microporous films, MediShield™ uses a Monolithic (solid-state) membrane. Because there are no physical holes, it is impossible for viruses or blood-borne pathogens to pass through, exceeding ASTM F1671 viral penetration standards.

Molecular Vapor Transfer

Comfort is achieved through hydrophilic chemistry. The membrane acts like a “molecular bridge,” absorbing sweat vapor on the inside and releasing it on the outside, maintaining the surgeon’s thermal balance during long procedures.

Built for the Modern Operating Room

MediShield™ fabrics are engineered to be lightweight, soft to the touch, and ultra-quiet (low-noise), which is essential for maintaining a focused surgical environment.

  • AAMI Level 4 Compliant: Suitable for the most critical zones in surgery.
  • Eco-Friendly: Manufactured using solvent-free lamination.
  • High Strength: Excellent tear resistance for durable protective performance.
